">Interesting organization you chose. It’s actually an organization that I’ve never heard of before but provides vital training and resources to the critical care specialty. The American Association of Critical Care nurses consist of a highly stressful, fast paced, and life or death work environments. This specialty requires nurses that can critically decipher critical information in a high stress situation. What stuck out the most to me about this unique origination is that it is so passionate about educating their nurses skills, that the AACN offers lots of free educational programs, resources to guidelines as well as a practice resource (AACN, 1969). The fact that the AACN offers a special networking community for information to be shared in a forum, and a mentor-ship program for new nurses to be taken under the wing of experienced nurses, as they begin this entry into nursing. The first year of nursing is such a venerable, stressful, scary, and unknown experience, which usually makes or breaks a nurse. The support services offered by the AACN organization lets other Critical Care nurses feel supported in many different areas. Critical care nursing peaks my interest, and hopefully it will be an area I can expand my experience into one day.
