The EBP implementation process will be guided by the Iowa model, which will facilitate the incorporation of principles related to stroke prevention and treatment into real clinical practice within the emergency department. As a nurse leader with a bachelor’s degree, it is incumbent upon me to provide education and support to clinical nursing staff on the significance and implementation of research and multidisciplinary collaboration in advancing patient-centred care and enhancing patient outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the procedure of acquiring pertinent and up-to-date evidence to increase the diagnosis and treatment of patients, hence fostering evidence-based practice (EBP) among recently employed nurses.
Nurse managers are responsible for promoting the understanding and application of evidence-based practice by newly hired nurses within their unit to promote clinical decision-making when caring for patients. This can be achieved by first creating a culture of readiness and promoting a positive attitude among staff members in utilizing scientifically proven evidence to guide their practice. Promoting cooperation among nursing personnel in promoting evidence-based practice is advantageous for comprehending the professional variety among team members and facilitating the acquisition of new competencies and knowledge via peer learning.
